HURRICANE ELEMENTARY PTO

December 2020 UPDATE

DEAR PARENTS,

During this holiday season, the PTO is working to connect parents with our school. Did you know that your last-minute holiday shopping can benefit all the students in our community?
Next time you log on to Amazon, use smile.Amazon.com and search for Hurricane Elementary PTO.  Every time you make a purchase through Amazon, use this option so a portion of your purchase can support our school!

For others of us, the holidays can be a very difficult time to make sure our family’s needs are met.  Please review the community resources below to see what might help you.

Sincerely,

Hurricane Elementary PTO Board

VOLUNTEER FOR OUR SCHOOL

There are many of ways to help out this year, even while observing CoVid-19 precautions:
Volunteer Directly with Students

Modified Classroom HelpThe change for the 2020-2021 school year is that you must be able to commit to at least a weekly volunteer schedule. This change makes it easier to keep track of who is in school at a given time. School EventsMany of our PTO events this year will require parent support at the school. These volunteer opportunities are for a few hours at a time on the day of an event like fundraising or Spirit Week.

Visit our website hurricanepto.org to find current event needs

Anyone who works directly with students needs to contact Principal Matthew Lowe (matthew.lowe@washk12.org) to complete the following:

1) Fill out a volunteer release form

2) Watch the volunteer privacy training video

3) Watch the CoVid safety training video

Volunteer Behind the Scenes

Many PTO events require preparation that you can help with. Some positions within the organization still need to be filled, and we could use your help with upcoming events.
